The word “evangelism” tends to send shivers down the spine, doesn’t it? However, it’s important to break out of the shell despite the annoying pit in the stomach. We’ve now put together six tips to help you feel more comfortable about having the “God” conversation with your friends. Dive right in:

1. SHARE YOUR TESTIMONY:

Telling your friends about your experience with God is not only a great way to bring God’s word to life, but also helps you establish a deeper connection with your your pals. So, share your testimony with your friend and a deeper conversation about God will follow.

2. BE AN EXAMPLE: 

You know what they say: actions speak louder than words! You might not realize it, but 93% of all daily communication is nonverbal! What’s more, research suggests that just watching someone strive toward a goal can inspire people to adopt the same goal.

It’s no wonder that the Jesus said,do as I have done to you.” (John 13:15). Therefore, remember to walk the talk. You need to live as Jesus did and be loving and compassionate as He was. It’s also a good idea to encourage friends who feel afraid by pointing them to the true source of hope. They  will truly respect you for that.

3. TRY TEXTING:

Did you know that the average millennial exchanges 67 texts per day? What’s more, research shows that people reply to texts within 3 seconds! So, how about initiating a conversation about God over text? In fact, a simple, “Hey, I’d like to share something with you” can help you kick-start a deeper conversation.

4. SHARE GOOD MUSIC AND VIDEOS:

People are constantly watching videos and listening to music on their phones. In fact, 75% of smartphone users utilize their mobile devices to watch videos, while 64% of them use phones to listen to music. Therefore, think about sending your friends either videos or songs that can help you initiate a meaningful conversation about God.
